Harley-Davidson Panhead Motorcycles

REAL GASKETS TENNESSEE is a manufacturer of state of the art silicone

rubber gaskets.   We offer valve cover gaskets for Continental, Franklin & Lycoming

aircraft engines. Plus gaskets for automobiles, motorcycles and more.

Firstly, the gaskets are made from aerospace / mechanical grade silicone.

Therefore the gaskets will not break down, dry up and deform or crack

        up like cork or neoprene.

Secondly, the material is designed to withstand temperatures up to 400 degrees

Fahrenheit.   As a result, they provide excellent performance in high

        temperature environments.

Thirdly,  REAL GASKETS  seal uneven and warped surfaces and

       eliminates corrosion.

Finally and best of all, they are 100% reusable.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

  1.    Wash the cover and engine flange with solvent.
  2.    The surfaces must be DRYno oil or lube of any type
  3.    Remove all traces of oil from the rocker box covers.
  4.    Install gasket DRY.
  5.     Torque Specifications:    Use lock washers or thread lock and

TORQUE (one time):  20 to 25  INCH POUNDS

**  DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. **

Over tightening causes the gasket to bulge or squeeze out.

If the gasket starts to bulge or “pooch” out when torqueing –

the gasket is being tightened down to much.  Back off on the torque.

If the gasket splits or cracks at the bolt holes then you have over torqued

the silicone material and ruined the gasket.

You must follow the recommended torque listed on the package.

Tighter is not better.

It is okay to use Loctite on the bolts.

TO REUSE GASKET:

  1.    Wash gaskets  BRIEFLY  in hot water and soap.
  2.    Rinse well and dry thoroughly.
  3.    Re-install gasket using the above installation instructions.
