Silicone gaskets are 1/8″ thick

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Wash the cover and mounting surfaces with solvent.   

Then remove all traces of oil.

The gasket must be installed DRY – (NO OIL OR LUBE OF ANY TYPE).

TORQUE:   20 – 25  “INCH” POUNDS

Due to misreading this instruction as “foot” pounds,

overtightening occurs.

Do not over tighten.   

As a result of over tightening, the gasket starts to bulge or “pooch” out. 

– So, back off on the torque. 

Also, the installation instructions are printed on the label

that comes with the gasket.

TO REUSE GASKET:     

Wash the gasket in hot soapy water.

Rinse well and dry thoroughly.   

Then re-install using the above installation instructions.

DO NOT SOAK GASKETS IN SOLVENT OR GASOLINE.
