OIL PAN GASKET – “ULTIMATE”  SILICONE

FORD or MERCURY – BIG BLOCK 

**ATTENTION: If you are using thin steel valve covers, do not use this fiberglass reinforced gasket. Use the silicone gasket RG-1817 instead.**

This may be the last gasket you will ever need to buy!

• A layer of fiberglass is centered between 2 layers of silicone

                            and gives the material extra stability and ultimate tensile

                            strength.

                            This is the absolute most stress that a material can resist

                            while being pulled or stretched which makes this

                            one tough gasket. 

• The material is resistant to deterioration by weathering and

                            engine oil and remains flexible over the temperature range

                            and withstands temperatures from -100  to 500 degrees F.

• The gaskets are made from aerospace mechanical grade

                            silicone and  will not break down and deform or crack up

                            like cork or neoprene.            

• This is a reusable gasket.

One “ULTIMATE” Silicone gasket – 1/8″ thick

Reusable gasket.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Wash the cover and mounting surface with solvent.   

Remove all traces of oil.

The gasket must be installed DRY   (NO OIL OR LUBE OF ANY TYPE).

TORQUE TO 45-50 INCH POUNDS         

DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.    

It causes the gasket to bulge out or squeeze out.

If  that happens then back off on the torque.

TO REUSE GASKET: 

Wash the gasket in hot soapy water.  

Rinse the gasket well and dry thoroughly.    

Re-install using the above installation instructions.
