SIDE COVER GASKET 

                for

CHEVROLET 6 CYLINDER

Made of  “Ultimate”  Silicone

**ATTENTION: If you are using thin steel valve covers, do not use this fiberglass reinforced gasket. Use the silicone gasket RG-5130-1 instead.**

This may be the last gasket you will ever need to buy!

–    A layer of fiberglass is centered between 2 layers of silicone

     and gives the material dimensional stability and 

     higher tensile strength. 

–    Additionally, the gaskets are made from aerospace mechanical

     grade silicone and will not break down and deform or crack up

     like cork or neoprene.

–    It will withstand operating temperatures from -100 to

     500 degrees F.   

–    The material is resistant to deterioration by weathering and 

     engine oil and remains flexible over the temperature 

     range noted.

–    Reusable gasket.

Consequently, this is a very heavy duty gasket.

This is a ten (10) bolt hole gasket.

Gasket is 1/8″ thick.

Reusable.

This gasket is also available in plain silicone – RG-5130.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:  

1.    Wash the cover and cylinder head surfaces with solvent.    
2.    Remove all traces of oil
3.    The gasket must be installed DRY  (NO OIL or lube of any type).

           TORQUE TO 45-50 INCH POUNDS  

Do not over tighten!  

Over tightening causes the gasket to bulge out or squeeze out.

If that happens, then back off on the torque.

TO REUSE GASKET: 

1.    Wash gasket briefly in hot water and soap.   
2.    Rinse gasket well and dry thoroughly. 
3.    Re-install gasket using the above installation instructions.

DO NOT SOAK GASKET IN SOLVENT OR GASOLINE.
