VALVE COVER GASKET – CHEVROLET STRAIGHT 6

Made of “ULTIMATE” Silicone

This may be the last gasket you will ever need to buy!

–     There is a layer of fiberglass centered between 2 layers of silicone 

        that gives the material dimensional stability and higher 

        tensile strength.

–     Therefore, this material is resistant to deterioration by weathering or 

        engine oil and remains flexible over the temperature range noted.     

        As a result, they provide excellent performance in high temperature   

        environments.  

–    The gaskets are made from aerospace mechanical grade silicone and 

       will not break down and deform or crack up like cork or neoprene.            

–     In addition, the gaskets will withstand operating temperatures 

       from -100 to 500 degrees Fahrenhiet.  

–     Best of all, it is a reusable gasket.

Gasket is 1/8″ thick silicone.

There are four (4) bolt holes in each gasket.

Reusable.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1.    Wash the cover and cylinder head surfaces with solvent. 
2.    Remove all traces of oil.
3.    The gasket must be installed DRY  (No oil or lube of any type).

          TORQUE TO 45-50 INCH POUNDS.     

             Do not over tighten.     

             It makes the gasket bulge out or squeeze out.

             If this happens back off on the torque.

TO REUSE GASKET:   

1.    Wash gasket briefly in hot water and soap.
   
2.    Rinse gasket well anddry thoroughly.
3.    Reinstall using the above installation instructions.
