VALVE COVER GASKET  –  Silicone

for

JEEP  4.2L

One gasket

Gasket has seven bolt holes

Gasket is 3/16″ thick silicone.

Reusable.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:  

Wash the cover and cylinder head surfaces with solvent.    

Remove all traces of oil. 

The gaskets must be installed DRY   (NO OIL OR LUBE OF ANY TYPE).

TORQUE to 18 – 20 INCH POUNDS  

**Do not over tighten**    

It causes the gasket to squeeze out or bulge out. 

Silicone gaskets should not bulge or “pooch out”.   

If this happens, then back off on the torque.

TO REUSE GASKET:   

Wash gasket briefly in hot water and soap.  

Rinse gasket off and dry thoroughly.

Re-install using the above installation instructions.

 DO NOT SOAK GASKET IN SOLVENT OR GASOLINE.
